Biography

Christophe Karabache is a French-Lebanese filmmaker.  Born in Beirut in 1979, he completed his Masters in Cinema Studies at Université Paris III – Sorbonne Nouvelle (France) and through a joint program at The University of Iowa (USA). 
Karabache began his exploration of film at l’Etna, an alternative workshop in Paris. He initially made experimental films.
His current filmmaking practice shifts between documentary and fiction. 
A documentary about his work is edited on DVD by RE:VOIR (Paris).
His films have been showcased at several international film festivals around the world (USA, Lebanon, Germany, Italy, Romania, Spain, Bulgaria, South Korea, Uruguay, New Caledonia, Benine, Bosnia/Herzegovina, Puerto Rico, Canada, Belgium, UK, India, Mexico, Brazil, Turkey, Venezuela, Thailand, Austria, Peru, Iran, Costa Rica, etc.) and theatrically released in movie theaters in France by Visiosfeir Distribution. In 2017, he signed a global distribution deal with Shami Media Group (New York). He was produced by Dragway Productions in 2018.

Christophe Karabache est un cinéaste franco-libanais, né en 1979 à Beyrouth. Il fait ses études de cinéma à l’Université de Paris III-Sorbonne Nouvelle où il obtient une bourse pour un séjour d’études à The University of Iowa aux États-Unis.
Ses films sont projetés et primés dans plusieurs compétitions et festivals internationaux.
Pendant plusieurs années il a été membre de L’ETNA (atelier alternatif de cinéma expérimental à Paris).
Karabache conjugue documentaires-essais et fictions. Un portrait sur son travail lui a été consacré dans la série « Cinexpérimentaux » édité en DVD par RE:VOIR et réalisé par Frédérique Devaux et Michel Amarger en 2012.
Ses long-métrages sortent en salles en France depuis 2011 (distribués par la société Visiosfeir). En 2017, Il signe pour une sortie internationale avec Shami Media Group (New York). Il fut produit par Dragway Productions en 2018.
